HID lights are advanced lighting systems commonly used in the automobile industry. The word HID stands for high intensity discharge. HID bulbs make use of arc lamp technology that utilizes high voltage electrical energy
(up to 15,000 volts!) to generate an arc between 2 electrodes in a gas (Xenon) substrate
